Changing Bathtub Fixtures
After living in the same house for 25 years, it was really no surprise that it was time to redecorate the bathroom. I was excited to visit the home decorating stores but it didn't take long to become dizzy with all the choices for something as simple as bathtub fixtures. My first choice was the claw foot bathtub fixtures. Since I don't have a claw foot bathtub and only wish for one, I gave up on this one quickly.
Next, I looked at Kohler bathtub fixtures, Crane and American Standard bathtub fixtures. They were very attractive with very clean lines. Since I had just recently purchased a new toilet, it would be smart and practical to match them up. It seem as if all of the bathtub fixtures could go together since they are silver color. I really, really liked the antique bathtub fixtures but because I need to change bathtub fixtures and replace the existing ones, I decided to just pick one that would flow with everything else in the room. I knew that it had to be a single handle bathroom faucet.
The bathtub fixtures had to be silver and the bathtub and shower fixtures had to fit in with the unique specially designed tub and shower. It was uncomfortable shopping at the store. The fixtures were piled so high. I decided it would be easier to do my shopping at home online. I did a few searches, looked over some sites and found one that offers free shipping. I settled on the American Standard model 3808101002 sink model and the bathtub and shower to match. I liked the style and the fact that they were silver with a touch of gold.

Overall, my search for bathtub fixtures was a brief yet fun experience. While my preference is with the vintage bathtub fixtures, I realized that this time I had to compromise and pick something that wold join the new with the old. I am happy and feel that I have accomplished this with what I have chosen. Eventually I would love to strip everything out and start fresh with a completely different look. I know that the first thing that I would add would be the claw foot bathtub. I would include an antique mirror with antique sink and tub fixtures. I would switch out the two bathroom sinks and only keep one. The extra space will be for the new bidet. |
