Why Chose A Reproduction Antique Bathtub

Have you seen the Kohler K-110-BN Vibrant Brushed Nickel Antique Bath Faucet? It looks like one of those old fashioned telephones. What a perfect addition this would be on antique bathtubs. While you can restore antique tubs such as the claw foot and cast iron tubs, they are becoming more difficult to find. There are places that will restore an original tub for you. Keep in mind that this is specialized work so the fee will be priced accordingly. The weight of these tubs is also much more. You will need to verify ahead that your structure can handle the added weight with no problem. Reproductions can still give your bathroom the flair you are looking for while maintaining the quality and integrity of your style.

Antique bathtubs come also as American Standard tubs with shower attachments and accessories available. They even make antique baby bathtubs. There are many styles of antique bathtubs. They are deeper than a regular tub and more comfortable. The reproductions weigh less than the originals and can be made in fiberglass or acrylic making them a good choice in our 21 century homes. These can become worn and dull after 10-15 years and can also weaken or develop cracks so keep that in mind before making your purchase. These are usually lower in price than the originals.

The choice made for including antique bathtubs in a redesign of a preexisting bath has grown in popularity consistently since it can so easily be incorporated into the personality of the homeowner. The outside of the tub can usually be painted to go with the colors of the bathroom. There are also a choice of styles to chose from for the tub itself.

The American public has picked antique bathtubs as their little oasis of the bathroom. The slipper tub can be a good example. It looks like the lounge chair for the bathroom. It's elegant yet functional. Some styles have a top that can roll across it to keep the water warm. There are round and square freestanding antique tubs. The antique tubs were made deeper to hold more water especially for soaking. This is why most people have rediscovered them. Our workdays have become so fast and furious that many of us are eating our lunch in the car or while grading papers. The luxury of soaking in a warm tub gives the nurturing of the safe baby in the womb. Water therapy. No worries be happy.

There is nothing more luxurious than an antique bathtub. I discovered them around 10 years ago and have never looked back. Anyone who is looking for a way to soak in a hot bubbly bath and not have to keep topping it up should go for one, they are absolutely amazing and look great too.

Since buying a slipper tub I have loved taking baths! Before that I would have showers most days and a bath around once a week. With my new slipper tub I am in there every night relaxing and feeling a million dollars. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a stylish and stunning bath to relax in.
